Well, Bria ran a fever off and on Tuesday night, all day Wednesday, Thursday and again Friday.
She's been running around, playing and eating fine. Complained of a sore throat and a headache a little bit but it would come and go. I kept her home from preschool on Thursday.
We took her to the doctor's on Wednesday. Received the basic advice to watch her and see if it develops into anything, strep test was negative, ears were clear, chest was clear, no other symptoms.
Doctor's rule of thumb is: if it starts out w/fever... it's probably part of a virus and has to run its course. if it starts out as a cold or congestion, then develops a fever 4 or 5 days later then it's probably an infection and requires antibiotics.
I hate it when either of the kids is sick.

I just wanted to edit my post but it deleted it! Oh well...hope Bria is feeling better! Thanks for the info on a virus vs. bacterial infection. Now I'll definitely know when to expect an ear infection.
Hi both of you, my guess would be allergies!!! Hay fever, trees, pollen. Alex was tested for allergies long ago and tested positive for 39 things. All environmental. Allergies run rampant on the Sledjeski side of the family. Alexs' symptoms are not too bad anymore , but William has constant nose and eye and ear issues. Although since getting tubes in August he's been very good
